At the beginning of the week, we learned that Jennifer Siebel Newsom is a writer, essayist, and photographer. A month later, thanks to the bravery and eloquent advocacy of her new book, “The Beauty and the Justice: Stories of Courage,” Newsom has begun a run of book events that have swept across America in her wake.

The book tour is now well underway, at the end of which she’ll join a panel discussion at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, October 24 at 6 p.m. (PST), moderated by Washington Post senior political correspondent Robert Costa. She’s also scheduled to appear on NBC’s “Today” show on Wednesday at 7
