SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — A highway agency in Southern California has issued a nationwide voluntary recall of more than 1,200 food packages, which the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says were also contaminated with salmonella.

Pacific Coast Highway, the agency that oversees the state’s expressways, is issuing the recall and will pay the $7,300 to $14,600 in costs for the affected food products.

Officials in California have been cracking down on human trafficking in several states, including in California. At least eight people were arrested in California last June on charges of human trafficking, sex-trafficking and possessing child pornography.

The California Highway Patrol and California Department of Justice said they are investigating the same two jurisdictions for sex trafficking.
